Ms. Sonia Madan has completed her M.B.A. with Finance and Accounting majors from the Lebow College of Business, Drexel University, Philadephia. She was honoured with a Beta Gamma Sigma Academic Excellence Award in her graduating class of M.B.A. At Drexel University, she has also managed the Drexel Women in Business Association. She pursued her legal studies at Panjab University. Winning as many as six Gold Medals, she was the University topper whilst pursuing a Bachelor of Law. Ms Madan specializes in handling commercial contractual arbitration matters related to infrastructure projects, Power Purchase Agreements, Coal Supply Agreements, energy and infrastructure-related investments, Insurance Agreements, Rental Agreements, Services Agreements as well as disputes between shareholders, joint venture partners, and consortium partners. Ms. Madan has represented clients in both International and Domestic Arbitration matters. She holds expertise in the Energy Sector and handles multifarious regulatory disputes about Electricity Laws ranging from execution of Power Purchase agreements with Thermal, Hydro and other Renewable Energy generators, determination of tariff for power procurement, disputes between licensees and generators etc. She strongly believes that women have unique skills and an imaginative perspective outlining the need for their presence in various fields.
